I’d buy these 2 cheap FTSE 100 stocks in an ISA to retire early Peter Stephens | Monday, 18th May, 2020 | More on: GLEN LLOY Buying FTSE 100 stocks with £5k in an ISA today may not seem to be a sound strategy for those investors seeking to retire early. The world economy faces one of its most challenging periods in living memory. And the coronavirus has caused many industries to experience significantly lower demand. However, buying FTSE 100 stocks after their recent price falls could be a means of accessing low valuations. In many cases they offer recovery potential, and may help to bring your retirement date a step closer.5G is here – and shares of this ‘sleeping giant’ could be a great way for you to potentially profit!According to one leading industry firm, the 5G boom could create a global industry worth US$12.3 TRILLION out of thin air…And if you click here we’ll show you something that could be key to unlocking 5G’s full potential…Here are two large-cap shares that appear to offer wide margins of safety and turnaround potential over the coming years.GlencoreThe recent quarterly update from FTSE 100 mining company Glencore (LSE: GLEN) highlighted that a substantial part of its operations have been unaffected by coronavirus. However, some of its operations are likely to be affected. And this could lead to a fall in its production guidance over the coming months. This may be offset to some degree by falls in Glencore’s costs. It has benefitted from lower energy costs in recent months, while favourable currency movements may limit its profitability decline. It has also recorded strong demand within its Marketing division. This may help to mitigate a potential slowdown in demand for a wide range of commodities across the global economy should a recession happen. The Glencore share price has fallen by 42% since the start of the year. Yes, investor sentiment towards the wider FTSE 100 mining sector may take time to improve from its current low levels. But the company’s performance could be relatively strong. As such, now could be an opportune moment to buy a slice of the business for the long run.FTSE 100 bank LloydsLloyds (LSE: LLOY) looks set to face difficult operating conditions in the short run. Its recent quarterly update included an impairment charge of £1.43bn due to the revised economic outlook. This reduced the bank’s quarterly profit to just £74m. Lower levels of profit may become the norm for the bank in the current year, as reduced economic activity across the UK could lead to lower demand for new lending.Despite this, Lloyds’ update also highlighted its strong balance sheet and its capacity to reduce costs. For example, its operating costs declined by 4% during the quarter, and further reductions could help to offset a decline in income to some extent. The Lloyds share price has fallen by 55% since the start of the year. This suggests that investors have factored-in a large proportion of the risks faced by the FTSE 100 company, and could indicate that it now offers a wide margin of safety. Therefore, it could offer recovery potential after its share price fall as the economic outlook improves over the coming years. This story is not about the house, but a home.Located in Pavilnys Regional Park in Vilnius this humble and practical house offers a sense of richness beyond materiality: pure comfort, enjoyment, and quality of life.Save this picture!© Norbert TukajSave this picture!Floor planSave this picture!© Norbert TukajThe building is split into two functional halves. On one side, an open common space containing the kitchen, dining, and living areas spans the entire length of the house. This space facilitates everyday family life in a vibrant and shared environment, without conforming itself to formality or tidiness. There are no separate rooms for reading, eating, or working, only a dynamic and ever-changing space that embraces everything that makes a house a happy home: some messiness, a bit of chaos, and lots of laughter.Save this picture!© Norbert TukajA wall of glazing connects the common space to the garden, where an apple orchard attracts the occasional deer and the natural surroundings of the regional park form a dynamic backdrop to life inside the house. The contrast between inside and out is blurred, and the atmospheres of the changing seasons are felt as much indoors as they are outside.Save this picture!SectionSituated along the other half of the building, bedrooms and quiet spaces offer secluded areas for family members to retreat from the commotion, allowing for privacy and personal space, without total disconnection from the rest of the house. East facing skylights bring morning light to both the bedrooms and the common space, ensuring the house is bright and airy throughout the day.Save this picture!© Norbert TukajThe building shows that good architecture need not be excessive. The house does not offer richness through expensive materials or things, rather through its ability to set the scene for life. This is a home at one with nature, where you feel a part of your surroundings, where you can play with your children in the snow, and pick apples in the garden. This is a home of contrast, offering both seclusion and connectivity. A rail line borders the site providing a 7 minute trip into the city, as well as entertaining the children with every passing train. This is a home that facilitates memories, embraces family, and celebrates everyday life.Save this picture!© Norbert TukajProject gallerySee allShow lessLopera House / David Ruiz MolinaSelected ProjectsWuyuan Skywells Hotel / anySCALESelected Projects Share Family House in Pavilnys / DO ARCHITECTS Family House in Pavilnys / DO ARCHITECTSSave this projectSaveFamily House in Pavilnys / DO ARCHITECTS “COPY” Year:  Save this picture!© Norbert Tukaj+ 26Curated by María Francisca González Share ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/889436/family-house-in-pavilnys-do-architects Clipboard Architects: DO ARCHITECTS Area Area of this architecture project Houses ArchDaily Manufacturers: Lunawood, Brolis Timber Products translation missing: en-US.post.svg.material_description Photographs Area:  150 m² Year Completion year of this architecture project Lithuania “COPY” CopyAbout this officeDO ARCHITECTSOfficeFollowProductWood#TagsProjectsBuilt ProjectsSelected ProjectsResidential ArchitectureHousesVilniusLithuaniaPublished on February 22, 2018Cite: “Family House in Pavilnys / DO ARCHITECTS” 22 Feb 2018. It is specifically looking to support organisations to:Increase the homelessness sector’s knowledge and experience of social investmentDevelop new models for income generation and fundingImprove their long-term sustainabilityHomeless Link will introduce the fund to the sector at an event on Monday 19 June in Central London. The programme is funded by Access – The Foundation for Social Investment, through its Growth Fund.Mark McPherson, director of strategy and innovation at Homeless Link, said:“This fund is an exciting initiative, and we hope that the investments will unlock innovative ways of working with people experiencing homelessness, and help to put the recipient organisations on a sustainable footing. Importantly, the programme will also help feed in to the bigger picture of how different funding mechanisms can work for homelessness services.“Social investment is increasingly being explored and used in the non-profit sector, offering a balance of accountability for results, and flexibility around use and repayment.
